Maine Mendoza is a Filipina actress, television host, and entrepreneur. She rose to fame in 2015 through the noontime variety show Eat Bulaga! by portraying the character 'Yaya Dub' in the popular segment 'Kalyeserye.' Her spontaneous Dubsmash videos and onscreen chemistry with Alden Richards, forming the love team known as AlDub, captivated millions of fans in the Philippines and around the world. Beyond her breakout role, Maine has since diversified her career and starred in several films and television shows.
Previously, Alden took a moment to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Kalyeserye — the now-defunct yet iconic segment of Eat Bulaga that launched the legendary AlDub tandem. The segment paved the way for the prominence of the love team, consisting of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, who played Yaya Dub. Their unexpected chemistry quickly caught the public’s attention and became a nationwide sensation. On X, formerly Twitter, the Kapuso actor greeted fans and paid tribute to the treasured moments that were born from the segment.
Meanwhile, Maine Mendoza treated her followers to heartwarming posts about her audition anniversary on June 19, 2025. It is worth noting that Maine auditioned for the noontime show “Eat Bulaga” 10 years ago. To mark the special day, the actress and television host shared an Instagram reel that featured a clip from the audition. Maine also took to IG Stories to post about the milestone and delightfully greet herself.
