Comedian and singer Kitkat Favia took to social media to share the heartbreaking news of her father’s passing. Almario “Al” “Kuyang” Bañas, described by Kitkat as “a light in our lives,” died at the age of 72. In her emotional post, Kitkat remembered her father as a loving and wise man whose warmth and laughter touched everyone who knew him.

“It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Almario ‘AL’ ‘Kuyang’ Bañas,” Kitkat wrote. “He was a light in our lives — a loving father, a loyal friend, and a source of wisdom and laughter to many. His presence brought comfort, and his kindness left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.”
As her family finalizes arrangements, Kitkat asked for prayers during this painful time: “We are still in the process of finalizing wake arrangements, and we will share the details soon. For now, we humbly ask for your prayers as we remember and celebrate the life of a truly wonderful man. We love you so much papa, pahinga ka na.”
Later, she shared the wake details: “We would like to inform everyone that the wake for our beloved father, Almario ‘AL’ ‘Kuyang’ Bañas, will begin TODAY, July 21 at 5:00 PM, at St. Peter Chapels, Commonwealth Avenue, QC. Your presence, prayers, and warm memories would mean so much to our family during this difficult time. Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and for honoring the life of a man so deeply loved.”

Soraya Ray L. Bañas, more popularly known as Kitkat, is a Filipina singer, comedienne, actress and TV host. Kitkat made a name as a singer/comedian at The Punchline, Laffline and Metro Comedy Bar. The comedienne-singer had her first solo concert back in 2009 at the Metro Bar. Kitkat portrays sidekicks in television series and movies. Kitkat is married to Waldy Favia and they have a baby girl named Uno Asher B. Favia.

In an Instagram post, the comedienne announced that she and her husband, Waldy Favia, are expecting their first child together. Kitkat likewise thanked God for this “life-changing blessing” and for keeping her body in good condition amid pregnancy.
Last August, Kitkat announced on her Instagram account that she successfully gave birth to her baby. She thanked God for her child, who she described as the greatest blessing in her life. “My life is complete. Thank you lord for this greatest blessing.
