Ogie Alcasid pens heartfelt farewell to ABS-CBN Tower

Ogie Alcasid paid tribute to the iconic ABS-CBN Millennium Transmitter in a heartfelt and poignant post.

On his social media page, the singer-songwriter shared a couple of posts containing photos of himself and his fellow “It’s Showtime” hosts posing before the iconic tower.

In one of his posts, Ogie penned a short yet emotional farewell to the historic tower, which is set to be demolished following the sale of part of the media company’s property in Quezon City.

“Salamat. Paalam. Kapamilya Forever,” he earnestly wrote.

In his other post, Ogie took a stroll down memory lane and recollected the start of his career.

“Dito po ako nagsimula noong taong 1991 sa programang Small Brothers kasama si pareng @jannolategibbs sina Cheenee de Leon, Janet Arnaiz, Racel Tuazon, at ang Neocolours,” he emotionally recalled.

“Hinding hindi ko ito malilimutan. Salamat sa yo at sa inyo. Mananatiling #kapamilyaforever,” Ogie concluded his moving tribute post.

Ogie Alcasid is a singer and composer in the Philippines. He is married to Regine Velasquez. a famous singer and host in the Philippines who is dubbed the Asia’s Songbird because of her outstanding vocal range. They have a son, Nate. The couple is considered one of the most respected power couples in the Philippine showbiz.

ABS-CBN is one of the leading media companies in the Philippines. Its 25-year franchise expired on May 4, 2020 and the Committee on Legislative Franchises of the House of Representatives officially rejected on July 10 its bid to secure another franchise.

She personally bid goodbye to the building and its iconic tower which are set to be dismantled. The TV5 broadcaster shared photos from her visit, where she bumped into several. Gretchen also wrote a meaningful message regarding her career, which began in ABS-CBN. “Will always bring the Kapamilya spirit wherever I go,” the Kapatid broadcaster emotionally wrote.

In another report, Kuya Kim Atienza is among the celebrities who have taken to social media to pay tribute to the ABS-CBN Millennium Transmitter. In a poignant post published on Thursday, July 10, Kuya Kim shared a carousel of photos, containing snaps featuring the iconic tower and logos of the Kapamilya shows he hosted before transferring to GMA Network. Along with the carousel post, Kuya Kim expressed his heartfelt gratitude to ABS-CBN and its historic tower. The television host underscored, “Naging Kuya Kim ako dahil sa iyo.” Kuya Kim concluded his post by writing a short yet optimistic message to all the Kapamilya.
