Teddy Corpuz opens up about eloping with wife Jasmine & marrying her 2 weeks into relationship

Rocksteddy frontman and It’s Showtime host Teddy Corpuz shared the whirlwind story of how he met, fell in love with, and married his wife Jasmin Corpuz—all within two weeks—during a candid interview on Karen Davila’s YouTube vlog.

Teddy recalled instantly knowing that Jasmin was “the one” the moment they met.

“Nung na-meet ko ’yung wife ko, alam niyo ’yun parang kung sino ’yung ma-meet ko, gusto ko siya na ’yung papakasalan ko. Wala akong ’yung parang dating-dating muna… Ayaw ko ’yung parang testing the waters,” he said.

But just a week into their budding romance, Jasmin dropped a surprise: she was about to leave for the United States on a fiancé visa. Teddy, undeterred, made her a bold offer.

“Sige ganito na lang, since one week pa lang tayo… delete ko ’yung cellphone number mo, delete mo ’yung cellphone number ko, huwag na tayong magkita. Pero kung mahal mo ako at hindi mo naman mahal ‘yung papakasalan mo dun, sa akin ka sasama,’” he recounted.

“Tapos sabi niya, ‘Sa’yo ako sasama.’”

Their love story quickly turned dramatic. After Jasmin’s mother found out about their relationship, she locked the gate to prevent her daughter from seeing Teddy. At the time, the couple was at a Rocksteddy gig in Marikina, and Teddy told her, “After gig susunduin kita, magtatanan tayo.”

The pair decided to get married that very night. Teddy explained his reasoning:

“One night sinabi ko, ’Gusto mo magpakasal na tayo? Kasi feeling ko ’pag bumalik ka sa inyo, ilalayo ka lang ng parents mo sa akin. Para at least pagdating mo sa inyo, kasal na tayo.’”

Two weeks into their relationship, Teddy and Jasmin tied the knot. Just ten days later, with their marriage certificate in hand, they informed Jasmin’s family—who initially had concerns, especially her mother, given Teddy’s rock band lifestyle.

Over time, however, Teddy won over Jasmin’s family and proved himself to be a committed husband and father.

Now married for over a decade, the couple continues to inspire with their story of bold love, resilience, and proving that sometimes, love at first sight can truly last a lifetime.

Teddy Corpuz is the frontman of Rocksteddy. He is also among the hosts of the noontime show "It's Showtime" alongside Jugs Jugueta.

Previously, Teddy also shared a heartwarming photo on his Instagram feed. It features him alongside his co-stars on 'It's Showtime'. Furthermore, the famous musician captioned his post with, "Fam 4 life. Hanapin nyo si Ion." Many people reacted to his post as they expressed their love and support for the entire cast of the said afternoon show.
