Liza Diño mourns death of Ice Seguerra's mother Caring; pays emotional tribute

Liza Diño, wife of Ice Seguerra, is grieving the passing of the singer-songwriter’s beloved mother, Mommy Caring.

In a lengthy and emotional post, Liza expressed disbelief in the unfortunate news. She also opened up how Mommy Caring’s sudden demise has left a void in her heart.

“Dear Mommy Caring, Hindi pa rin totoo sa isip at puso ko na wala ka na.”

“Parang nung isang araw lang, nandun ka pa sa Rampa, nakangiti, nagce-celebrate, nakiki-party sa birthday ko, kumpleto sa energy, ready pa ring sumayaw. Napakasigla mo pa nun. Kaya ang bigla-bigla po nito. Ang hirap tanggapin,” Liza wrote, remembering Mommy Caring’s cheerful presence during her birthday celebration a few days ago.

She went on to express her earnest gratitude to her late mother-in-law.

“Mommy C, Thank you for loving me like your own. Damang-dama ko ’yun sa bawat yakap mo, bawat tanong mo kung okay ako, bawat push mo na ipagpatuloy ko ang mga pangarap ko. Lagi mong sinasabi sa lahat na fan ka ng flamenco ko at lagi mong pinapaalala na dapat kong balikan ’yon. And even when I moved on to other fields, lagi ka pa ring nakasuporta. Lagi kang proud, lagi kang present.”

Liza likewise lauded Mommy Caring’s unwavering love and support for Ice.

“Bilib na bilib ako sa pagmamahal mo kay Ice. You are a constant presence in his life—-You were always there for every show, every gig at tugtog ni Ice kahit saan man yan. His one-woman cheer squad na nagiging iyakin lately lalo pag kinakantahan ka ni Ice.”

She continued, “Pero hindi ka lang pangcheer, the best critic ka rin. Kung kulang ang birit, sasabihin mo. Kung maganda ang pagkanta pero pwede pang may feelings, maririnig namin ’yon. Never mo kaming binola and we’re all better because of it.”

Liza also fondly described Mommy Caring as “one of the strongest women I know. Independent. Matapang. Masayahin. Ballroom queen pa rin hanggang ngayon. At the same time, full of warmth and generosity. You made everyone feel seen and loved and you inspired me to be a better mom to Amara.”

“Sabi ni Ice minsan, ‘Love, parang nagiging Mommy Caring ka na ah.’ Kasi minsan ikaw na ‘yong boses sa utak ko kapag kinokorek ko siya with love and brutal honesty. That’s how much of you lives on in us,” Liza shared.

“Hindi ko pa talaga matanggap pero ito ang pangako ko: I’ll take care of Ice. I’ll love him the way you loved him, fiercely, faithfully, and without question. I’ll guard our family with the same strength and presence you gave us all these years,” she vowed.

“Thank you for embracing me, for loving Amara, and for always making your presence felt sa lahat ng paraan. Wala kang katulad.”

Liza concluded her poignant letter to Mommy Caring by noting, “Mahal na mahal ka namin, Mommy Caring. Magpahinga ka na. Magkasama na kayo ni Daddy Dìck ngayon—nag-baballroom at Zumba together. Salamat sa lahat. Mahal na mahal kita.”

Ice Seguerra is a singer and actor in the Philippines. He rose to fame when he became part of Eat Bulaga which was enjoyed by many. She is a product of Little Miss Philippines which is part of "Eat Bulaga" where cute and talented girls become contestants to share their talent and charm and bring joy and inspiration to the viewers.

As previously reported by KAMI, Ice announced the passing of his mother, Mommy Caring, who died at 7:54 AM on June 27. In an emotional social media post, Ice paid tribute to the woman he described as the “most amazing” person he has ever known.

On Wednesday, June 25, Liza turned another year older and wiser. Ice then took to social media and posted a heartfelt birthday greeting for his wife.
