In a vulnerable post, Michelle wrote: “No one really tells you how hard it is to find your mom tribe in your mid-30s. Also, the emotional rollercoaster of trying to have a baby while dealing with Hashimoto thyroiditis and endometriosis.”
Her honesty resonated with many of her followers, especially women navigating similar health and fertility struggles. Michelle, who is based in the U.S., now married to Kevin Neal, and co-parents her daughter with ex-husband Troy Woolfolk, has long been open about her wellness journey, mental health, and healing after divorce.
Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is an autoimmune condition where the immune system mistakenly attacks the thyroid gland, leading to hypothyroidism or underactive thyroid. This can cause hormonal imbalances that affect ovulation and fertility. Symptoms may include fatigue, weight gain, depression, and irregular periods—all of which can complicate the process of trying to conceive, according to Mayo Clinic.
Endometriosis, on the other hand, is a painful disorder in which tissue similar to the lining inside the uterus grows outside of it. This condition can cause inflammation, scarring, and adhesions that interfere with normal reproductive function, according to Healthline.
As she continues her journey, Michelle remains committed to transparency and encouraging women to advocate for their health, seek support, and share their stories.
