Former PBA star and fitness advocate Doug Kramer took to Instagram to share his tried-and-tested health and fitness regimen, inspiring his followers with a post about strength, discipline, and staying youthful at 42 years old.

“42 years young, no going back to old ways!” Doug wrote, flexing not just his muscles but also his commitment to a healthy lifestyle. In the post, he broke down his approach to building muscle, losing weight, and staying fresh and energized—with the ultimate goal of looking and feeling younger.
Kramer stressed the importance of consistent gym workouts, recommending that beginners start with one hour a day, three to five times a week. As for himself, Doug shared that he trains six times a week, with each session lasting at least two hours.
For weight loss, he emphasized the role of diet. “Eat the right food, don’t overeat,” he wrote, adding that many people unknowingly consume too many calories. He adheres to a calorie deficit, avoids almost all carbs and sugar from Monday to Saturday, and follows a high-protein diet, reinforcing the popular saying, “Abs are made in the kitchen.”

Kramer also credited intermittent fasting as a key part of his routine. He fasts from 6 p.m. to 12 noon the following day, consuming just two meals at noon and 6 p.m. His mornings often include fasted workouts, which he says leave his body feeling “refreshed and detoxed.”
Still, Doug believes in balance. He enjoys a cheat day on Sundays, indulging in favorites like pancakes, French toast, cookies, and even fast food. “Be disciplined Monday to Saturday, enjoy Sunday,” he advised.
More than just building a fit physique, Doug believes his lifestyle boosts his “happy hormones” and keeps him looking younger than his age. He ended his post with a heartfelt reminder: “Health is wealth, guys! Lastly, praise the Lord for His grace and love to do all these things!”
