Actress Lotlot de Leon took to Instagram to honor the late veteran actor and director Ricky Davao, who passed away on May 2, 2025, at the age of 63 after battling cancer.

In her emotional tribute, Lotlot reflected on their decades-long friendship and the deep bond he shared with her family.
She began by reminiscing about their early encounters:
“Nakilala ko si Kuya Ricky when I was very young.. he would frequent our house dahil sa mga pelikulang ginawa nila ni mommy and they were very very good friends, little did I imagine fast forward to many years that he will really be a part of my life because of Ate Jacqui..”

Lotlot highlighted Ricky’s esteemed career and his personal significance to her. According to Lotlot, she was close to Ricky:
“To many he was an outstanding actor and director, one of the best in our industry.. but to me he was Kuya Ricky..
Plus he was fondly called by my kids Tito Nong…
as time went by we got closer, and he would never miss out on greeting me for any occasions..
we would have our personal kwentuhans about life and on not so good days he would always remind me that everything was gonna be okay.”
She also fondly recalled his affection for her children:
“He was also very fond of Janine, Jessica, Diego and my Maxine.. he would always have that proud uncle smile when he knows that my kids are doing well. He’s always the proud and happy, Tito Nong.”
Expressing the depth of her loss, Lotlot shared:
“His passing has left a dent in my heart.. our family’s heart. But I know for sure in heaven where he is, he will always be watching over us..”
Lastly, Lotlot sent a message to Ricky’s family and extended her condolences to Ricky’s children:
“To his children, my pamangkins.. I’m deeply sorry for your loss. But knowing all of you and how strong and beautiful you all are, that’s Kuya Ricky’s heart shining through all of you. I know how proud he is of all of you too.”
Concluding her tribute, Lotlot offered a heartfelt message to Ricky’s family and his partner, Jacqui:
“To Kuya Ricky’s family and to my dear Ate Jacqui, isang mahigpit na mahigpit na yakap. I love you.”
