Ruffa Gutierrez gives update on sister-in-law’s battle with leukemia

Actress Ruffa Gutierrez spoke about the health struggles of her sister-in-law Alexa Uichico, according to a report by ABS-CBN News.

Ruffa was emotional as she spoke about the battle with leukemia of Alexa, the wife of Ruffa’s brother Elvis Gutierrez.

“She’s battling leukemia, just continue to pray for her. She’s actually struggling right now, I don’t want to talk about it because I might cry,” Ruffa said.

Ruffa also spoke about how his brother Elvis has been dealing with Alexa’s health issues.

“Elvis is also having a hard time because they’ve been in and out of the hospital since January so pagdasal po natin sila,” the actress shared.

Ruffa also urged the public to pray for Alexa, as the necessary treatment is not available in the Philippines.

“We really need your prayers kasi the treatment that she needs, wala dito sa Pilipinas, so I don’t know if she’s able to fly out or not so yun ang tinitignan namin,” she said.

PhilStar reported last January about Ruffa taking to Instagram to ask the public to pray for Alexa, who she praised for her courage amid her health ordeal.

In a report by Inquirer months ago, Ruffa’s mother Annabelle Rama also expressed her love and full support for Alexa, who she described as an amazing daughter-in-law.

Meanwhile, Ruffa Gutierrez recently showcased her daughter Venice's singing skills. On Instagram, Ruffa posted a video of Venice jamming to Billie Eilish's 'L'amour De Ma Vie.' In the now-viral video, Venice could be heard belting out the song effortlessly. Needless to say, Ruffa's post earned tons of positive comments on social media.
