Michelle Marquez Dee of Makati was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2023 last Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City.

One of her strongest competitors was Pauline Amelinckx of Bohol, who was also a fan favorite among the crowd.

On Instagram, a netizen named Darwin C. Gabucan uploaded a video of Pauline and her mother after the pageant. The video shows Pauline and her mom crying hard while hugging each other.

Many people around them were chanting “Bohol” during the emotional moment.

“Miss Bohol with her MOM. it’s hard to upload this but I have to share this with yah guyss. I’m a fan of Pauline and it’s my first time to see her and yes this is my first encounter with her, tears of pain and joy.

“I admired her hardwork, comskill and everything. Sabi ko sa sarili ko di ako uuwi hanggang di mo nakikita si Bohol so I patiently waiting. I was able to hold her hand and badly wants to hug her but I don’t have a chance because of super duper crowd fans. You are our Miss Universe Philippines we never had nevertheless you are our Miss Supranational Philippines 2023 , we will support you all the way. Michelle Marquez Dee is a beauty queen who rose to fame after winning the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 pageant. She will represent the Philippines at the 72nd Miss Universe pageant in El Salvador later this year. Michelle’s mother is actress and former beauty queen Melanie Marquez.

In other news, Michelle was recently crowned as the Miss Universe PH 2023 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. During the final question and answer, Michelle was asked about the Department of Tourism's new branding campaign "We give the world our best." The host asked Michelle what she believes is the best thing about the Philippines. According to Michelle, although the Philippines have great natural resources and tourist spots, the best thing about the country is the warmth and friendliness of the Filipino people.

She also had some emotional moments onstage with her mom, actress and former beauty queen Melanie Marquez. A heartwarming video of Melanie hugging her daughter onstage to congratulate her has gone viral. Epic photos of Michelle and Melanie posing together onstage after the coronation were also uploaded.
