Eric Tai, also known as Eruption, revealed on Instagram that he has tested positive for COVID-19. Fortunately, everyone else in his residence tested negative for the said virus.
The actor-host also jokingly said that he was imprisoned in his room by his wife Rona Samson because of his illness.
He also urged the public to get vaccinated as soon as possible and to isolate themselves immediately if they experience any symptoms.

“After a bout of body chills, I was tested positive for COVID-19 while everyone else in the house is negative.
“I’m sharing this because I want you to know that you are not alone. We are all battling with the unseen enemy, and it just got stealthier with the Omicron variant.
“If you got the symptoms, mag-isolate ka and stay home, so we can all help the nation heal. If you can, get vaccinated.
“Reach out to your friends and family members, they may be going through it and sometimes all they need is for people to show they care. Think positive, but stay negative! SUNTUKAN NA,” Eruption wrote on Instagram.
Eric Tai, also known as Eruption, is a Tongan-born Filipino actor, model, TV host, comedian and rugby union player. He also used to be one of the hosts of "It's Showtime". Tai got married to Rona Samson in March 2015 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Cubao, Quezon City.
Aside from Eruption, many other celebrities in the Philippines have also tested positive for COVID-19. One of them is actor JC De Vera. His wife Rikka, and their daughter Lana also tested positive for COVID-19. The hunk actor was the last one in their family to test positive for the said virus.
Another is singer Morissette Amon and her fiancé, Dave Lamar. Both of them tested positive for COVID-19 after displaying mild flu-like symptoms. During her hospitalization, the singer was also treated for a condition in her intestines called diverticulitis.
