Maxene Magalona shared with her fans and followers some words of wisdom about turning pain into purpose. The mental health advocate said that the first step in dealing with emotional pain is to accept it and be at peace with it.
The next step is to meditate and pray regularly to be able to explore the pain’s triggers and how to resolve them. Finally, a person who experiences emotional pain should find activities and hobbies that will bring joy, peace, and purpose to his or her life.
“How to turn pain into purpose:
“1. Make peace with your pain. Sit with it. Feel it. Cry it out. Scream into a pillow. Calm yourself. Write down everything that caused your pain. Burn the paper and then let it go. Understand and accept that whatever hurt you was meant to happen so that you can grow and evolve into a higher form of consciousness. (In other words, get over yourself. Lol) Now that you’ve made sense of why all of this happened to you, ask yourself what is that you want to do moving forward and how you want to help and inspire others after what you went through.

“2. Meditate + pray daily with intention. This will help you process and release more of your pent up emotions. The more you eliminate these blockages, the more it will be revealed to you who you truly are underneath. This practice will help you connect to the innermost recesses of your soul. It also allows you to have the space and clarity that you need to come up with creative solutions for your problems. Pain sometimes comes from having too many overwhelming tasks and responsibilities. Learn to meditate so that you can breathe your way through these challenges. You can do this.
“3. Find your purpose. If you meditate and connect to God religiously through prayer, He will eventually whisper to your soul your true purpose. Watch for little messages and signs from the Universe about what makes your heart jump and what gets your spirit excited. Explore different hobbies and passions. Go out into the world and just stay open to life! Keep going until you find the thing that makes your soul want to get up and live life every morning. Your true purpose will feel exciting, peaceful, enjoyable and fulfilling. It will not be stressful and unhealthy for the body. You were not put on this earth to suffer. Find your purpose and offer your life to God,” Maxene wrote.
