Given the name Jose Sixto Raphael Gonzalez Dantes III, Dong was born in Quezon City, Philippines, on August 2, 1980. Dingdong Dantes is married to fellow Kapuso actress Marian Rivera since 2014. The couple met on the set of their 2007 adaptation of the highly-popular Spanish telenovela “Marimar”, where they played the lead roles. He proposed to her in August 2014 and had their wedding in December that year.

He is a proud father of two children, the first one announced in April 2015. Dingdong Dantes children are his daughter Maria Leticia, born November 23, 2015, and son Jose Sixto IV, born April 16, 2019.
