Every pinoy movie rom-com, drama list is not complete without the timeless “One More Chance” who introduced us to Popoy (John Lloyd Cruz) and Basha (Bea Alonzo). The two had a young love that did not flourished after Basha had doubts. She broke up with Popoy and tried to move on, but they gave their love another chance after years healed all pains and sorrows.
Starting Over Again
This movie negates the premise of “One More Chance”. Sometimes, love does not have another chance and it is best to move on with your new life and not be hung up in the past. Ginny (Toni Gonzaga) and Marco (Piolo Pascual) were lovers until Ginny realized that she has to pursue her career leaving Marco. However, after receiving an email, she felt that she still has feelings for Marco and tried to get back with him. However, she realized that she has to let him go and wish him well. This film will give you the courage to let go and to think that you did not lose upon doing so.
No Other Woman
In 2011, “No Other Woman” heralded the “kabit” films or movies that portray adultery and cheating. Ram (Derek Ramsay) and Charmaine (Cristine Reyes) live a normal family life, until the wealthy and beautiful Kara (Anne Curtis) came into scene. If you want to be outraged to your ex who cheated you and gain the perspective of the other woman, this is a film that you should watch.
That Thing Called Tadhana
One of the most viral films in 2015 is the indie film “That Thing Called Tadhana”. This romantic-comedy stars Mace (Angelica Panganiban) and Anthony (JM de Guzman) who first met in Italy. Upon arriving in the Philippines, the two went to a coffee shop and karaoke bar. It was revealed that Mace was cheated by her boyfriend. The two spontaneously went to Baguio and Sagada to vent out her pain and heartache. This film spiked the tourism in those provinces.
Sakaling Hindi Makarating
“Sakaling Hindi Makarating” is another travel-based movie. It seems that a broken heart gives you license to pack your bags and go. Artist Cielo (Alessandra de Rossi) receives hand-painted postcards after her engagement was called off. She embarked in a journey around the Philippines looking for her mysterious penpal, “M”. Sometimes, the change in scenery influences the healing. Many says that it is not the destination, but the journey.
