Kapuso leading lady Glaiza de Castro said that she was speechless when she finally met Sunshine Dizon, who played the role of Sang’gre Pirena in the original Encantadia.
In an Instagram post, de Castro expressed her delight in meeting Dizon.
“Nakadaupang palad ang isang sanggre kanina sa gusali ng GMA Network. Lumukso ang aking puso at wala akong masabi kaya't nagpakuha na lamang kami ng litrato,” she said.
De Castro also noted that the original Sang’gre Pirena knows a lot about the fantasy world of Encatadia, which is set to air a remake soon.
“Batid kong marami pa siyang ibang nalalaman tungkol sa mundo ng #Encantadia. P.S. Salamat @tracybaky sa litrato. Kay ganda ng paslit na iyon sa gilid ?#pirenaxpirena,” the actress said.
Kapuso actress Sunshine Dizon will still be a part of the GMA-7 fantaserye as she take on a special role.
In an interview with GMA News Online a week ago, Dizon revealed that the role was specially made for her.
"They created this role especially for me and I'm very happy to be part of it again,” said Dizon.
"As of now, I can't really say pa kung ano yung name ng character and what the character will be. What I can say lang is that it's going to be a big role and it will surely excite the Encatadics," she added.
The actress also congratulated Glaiza De Castro and gave her a piece of advice: "I know she's going to be great. She just has to stay true to the character."
Sunshine has always been consistent in asking the fans to rally behind the new sang’gres ever since the new cast was introduced to the public.
In a Twitter post, she asked those who criticize the choice of actresses who will play the lead roles in the fantaserye to avoid using hurtful words.
“Let us not be quick to judge and avoid using hurtful words. Instead, let’s celebrate that we are all lucky to witness the magic again,” Dizon said.
“Congratulations to the new sangres, hasne ivo live encantadia!” she said using the language that the Sang’gres use in the fantaserye.
Apart from Sunshine Dizon, the original cast of ‘Encantadia’ included Karylle as Sang’gre Alena, Diana Zubiri as Sang’gre Danaya, and Iza Calzado as Sang’gre Amihan when the show was first aired in 2005.
The new cast includes Gabbi Garcia as Alena, Sanya Lopez as Danaya, and Kylie Padilla as Amihan apart from Glaiza De Castro who will take on the role previously played by Sunshine Dizon.
