- President Rodrigo Duterte said that a school building in China was named after his mother Soledad
- He will be inaugurating the said school building
- Its purpose is to cater to foreign students who want to study in China
President Rodrigo Duterte said on Tuesday that he would go to Fujian province in China to inaugurate a school building named after his mother, Soledad.
KAMI learned that the building aims to honor “Nanay Soleng” who used to be a public school teacher.
In a report by the Inquirer (author Neil Arwin Mercado), the new school building will be for foreign students who want to study in China.
“I’m proceeding to Fujian because they – sa University of Fujian – they built a building in honor of my mother. Tanungin nyo mga taga-Davao, teacher ba nila ang nanay ko, 1951. When that school was organized, one of the few pioneering teachers, nanay ko,” Duterte said.
“Kaya may building siya doon for foreign students na niyayaya nila to study in China. So I’m going there to inaugurate that,” he added.
