Jane de Leon has finally been announced as the new local heroine, ‘Darna.’ The announcement was posted by ABS-CBN through social media.
It can be recalled that netizens have been rooting for Nadine Lustre to be casted as ‘Darna’ after she shouted the iconic line of the local heroine in one of Donnalyn Bartolome’s vlog.
KAMI learned that Nadine recently gave Jane a message about her new role, “I’m really happy na si Jane yung kinuha kasi I’ve seen her a couple of times before, common friends, so it’s nice na siya yung, na siya na yung bagong superhero natin.”

As reported earlier by KAMI, Nadine Lustre was the top choice for many people to become the new Darna. However, it was actress Jane de Leon who was officially chosen to play the iconic character. In a new interview, Nadine opened up about not being considered for the coveted role.
Nadine Lustre is a famous Filipino actress and commercial endorser who gained prominence after starring in “Diary Ng Panget” with James Reid. She also starred in the acclaimed teleserye entitled “On The Wings of Love.”
