QC Prosecutor’s Office reverses decision versus Ces Drilon and Marie Lozano

The Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office decided to reverse its earlier resolution to dismiss the libel complaints filed by Gretchen Fullido versus some of her colleagues in ABS-CBN.
KAMI learned that the said showbiz news reporter sued Ces Drilon, Marie Lozano, and news executive Venancio Borromeo for damaging her reputation through their remarks.
According to the complaint, Ces claimed that Gretchen is willing to wear sexy outfits just to make the ratings of TV Patrol better.
Gretchen also said that Marie made a statement stating that the only reason why she filed libel complaints against her colleagues was for her to stay in ABS-CBN News.
The QC Prosecutor’s Office junked the petition filed by the showbiz reporter few months ago but the decision was reversed after a Motion For Reconsideration was submitted.
In the new resolution dated April 29, the said office already recommended the filing of libel charges against the three accused personalities.

Quezon City Chief Prosecutor Vilma Barcellano expressed in her decision that Ces, Marie, and Venancio "acted in bad faith when they issued libelous statements against Fullido."
She also found probable cause in the complaints of Gretchen, thus recommending that the case must be brought to the court for proper hearing.
When asked by Rappler about her reaction, Ces just stated that her camp has not received a reversed resolution yet.
"We have not received any resolution. All we have is what Gretchen Fullido's lawyer is showing to the media,” she quipped.

Gretchen Fullido is a Filipina anchor and model who was born on June 4, 1980. She is serving as the showbiz anchor of the segment in TV Patrol called “Star Patrol.”
