PNP says they are ready to investigate Jim Paredes’ video scandal

The Philippine National Police (PNP) says that they are ready to investigate how the video scandal of singer Jim Paredes circulated on social media.
KAMI learned from the report of the Inquirer (author Catherine Gonzales) that the authorities are willing to help Paredes if ever he would seek for their help.
“Kung mangyari man na talagang hihingi [siya] ng tulong, nakahanda po ang PNP na umalalay at imbestigahan ang pangyayari,” PNP spokesperson Col. Bernard Banac said.
The police official also reminded the netizens to be responsible social media users and refrain from sharing private videos or scandals online.
“Sa pangkalahatan, ang paalala natin sa lahat kapag may mga ganitong mga pribado na issues, kung maaari lang po ay wag na natin itong gamitin, wag ipaikalat, bilang mga responsableng netizens na gumagamit ng social media,” he said.

As previously reported by KAMI, Paredes admitted that he was the one in the alleged video scandal after calling it “fake” at first. The singer also released an official statement and apologized for being irresponsible.
Born on August 31, 1951, Jaime Ramon “Jim” Paredes is a known singer and activist in the Philippines. He is one of the members of music group "APO Hiking Society."
