Former Ilocos Sur governor Chavit Singson shared that he was finally able to get additional animals for his Baluarte Zoo in Vigan, Ilocos Sur. KAMI learned that Singson ordered his new giraffes from South Africa.

According to the interview of ABS-CBN TV anchor Korina Sanchez with Singson, the giraffe costs about 1 million each and the former governor waited for almost five years for the giraffes to arrive.

“May mga nangloloko rin. Noong unang inorderan ko, niloko ako ng isang supplier sa South Africa, pero napatayo ko na ‘yung mga bahay nila rito four years ago, ‘di dumating, ‘di nag-deliver, so lugi ako pero pursigi ako,” Singson said.

Singson currently has 27 giraffes in his zoo. The former governor also made it clear that everything is legal in his 120-hectare zoo.

“Legal lahat, from local and foreign countries na pinanggalingan,” Singson stated.

Aside from Baluarte Zoo, Singson also has his Safari Hotel and Villas that can give an African vibe to the visitors. The said hotel had its soft opening last December 2017.

As previously reported by KAMI, Singson is running to become the governor of Ilocos Sur once again. He was caught on video giving away money or “balato” that he got when he won in a bet during Manny Pacquiao’s recent fight.
