To save Duterte or Arroyo? Chel Diokno gives ‘funny’ answer during Fast Talk

Human rights lawyer and Senate candidate Jose Manuel “Chel” Diokno was part of the “Harapan 2019: The ABS-CBN Senatorial Town Hall Debate” on Sunday night.
KAMI learned that during the “Fast Talk” segment of the debate, Diokno was asked if he was given the chance to choose between President Rodrigo Duterte and former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, whom would he save.
“Lulubog ang barko, isa lang ang natitirang life vest. Kanino mo ibibigay, kay Pangulong Duterte o kay dating Pangulong Arroyo?" ABS-CBN reporter Alvin Elchico asked.
“Naku. Baka sakin na lang kaya?” Diokno said.
The Senate aspirant’s answer drew laughs to the audience.

Aside from that, Diokno was asked about his opinion regarding the legalization of same-sex marriage and divorce in the country. The lawyer said that he is in favor of both.
When asked if there was a good thing that the Duterte administration has done, Diokno pointed out the smoking ban that President Duterte has implemented nationwide.
Born on February 23, 1961, Chel Diokno is a lawyer and an educator. He is an advocate of human rights in the country and a founding dean of the De La Salle University College of Law. He is the son of former Senator Jose W. Diokno who was arrested during martial law in 1972.
