In Quiapo, Manila, people can buy different items like an amulet, alternative medicine, and a lot more. However, KAMI learned that the thing Filipinos buy the most is “gayuma” or love potion.

In a report by ABS-CBN News, many young Filipinos, especially those who are finding the “right one”, have bought “gayuma” to lure the one they like and make them fall in love with them.

According to Bro. Ariel Red, a healer in Quiapo, he used a moving hair for his potion. Whenever he makes “gayuma”, he said that it should be accompanied by a prayer for it to be effective.

However, an expert gave a warning with regard to the consumption of “gayuma.”

“Kung minsan, nagkakaroon ng bacteria na naiinom nila so syempre, masama ‘yun sa katawan nila in the sense na pwede sila magkaroon ng LBM. Pwede silang magkaroon ng infections,” Dra. Bles Salvador said.

According to a relationship expert, “gayuma” is not the right way to find “true love”. Maribelle Dionisio said that it is important to take note of the things you like when finding a partner.
