Karla Estrada & Rommel Padilla open up about having a broken family

Rommel Padilla was a special guest on the ABS-CBN talk show “Magandang Buhay.”
KAMI learned that Rommel and his former partner Karla Estrada – one of the show’s hosts – opened up about their experience as parents to their son Daniel Padilla after their separation.
Rommel thanked Karla for allowing him to be a father to Daniel despite their breakup and his shortcomings.
"Thank you, dahil sa 'yo nagampanan ko ‘yung obligasyon ko kay DJ (Daniel). Siguro kung hindi ka naging ganoong nanay, malamang napabayaan ko, eh. Hindi ko siguro natutukan, ‘yung pagdating ni DJ sa edad (niya ngayon)," Rommel told Karla, as quoted by PUSH.
Karla said that she had no ill feelings towards Rommel despite their separation and that she always told Daniel that his daddy is a good person. Rommel was imprisoned in the ‘90s for illegal possession of firearms.
She also urged people in broken families to avoid talking badly about their children’s respective parents to try working with their exes in raising their kids.
"Never naman akong nakaramdam ng kahit anong pitik sa tenga, kahit anong paggalit noong kaming dalawa ay nagsasama pa. So naappreciate ko ‘yon hanggang ngayon. Kaya hanggang ngayon, hanggang si Daniel Padilla ay lumalaki, pinagsisigawan ko na ang tatay mo ay mabuting tao…
"Alam niyo napakagandang example ‘yon para sa ating mga anak, (na nasa) isang pamilya na nagkakahiwalay, o sa mag-asawa. Ang pinakamaganda na lang nating gawin ay ipakita natin kung gaano tayo nagmamahalan bilang magkakaibigan kasi from there, ang anak natin ay hindi nagkakaroon ng insecurities. At mas nagiging buo ang kanilang pagkatao.
"So ‘yun ang dapat nating sinasabi lagi sa ating mga anak, at ipapakita sa mga anak. Hindi nila kasalanan ang ating mga naging kasalanan. So let's be friends, katulad ng ginagawa namin ni Rommel na pinapakita namin na nagkamali man kami, we can be okay para sa inyo mga anak," Karla explained

KAMI reported earlier that Rommel Padilla admitted that his first time meeting baby Daniel Padilla was when he was in prison.
Karla Estrada’s most popular child is Daniel Padilla, whose dad is Rommel Padilla.
Her three other kids – Jose Carlito, Margaret and Carmella – all have different fathers as well.
