Autopsy confirms cause of death for teen who died at Sinulog party; authorities will issue a subpoena against the boyfriend

- Ashley Avila Abad, a 19-year-old, was declared dead during a Sinulog party in Cebu last Saturday, Jan. 19

- Police has recently confirmed the cause of her death to the media

- They also announced that the primary suspect behind her death is her boyfriend

19-year-old nursing student Ashley Avila Abad's tragic death at the Sinulog Party continues to make headlines as police released a statement about her cause of death.

KAMI learned that Chief Superintendent Debold Sinas, director of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas, stated that the cause of Ashley's death was ëcstasy ôverdose.

This was based on the autopsy report from PDEA or the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

According to ABS CBN, Sinas also stated that they have plans to file a case against Ashley's boyfriend, Nel Spencer Tiu, who was present during the time of her death.

Sinas explained, "Our primary suspect now is the boyfriend. We will ask the subpoena power of the chief PNP para i-summon siya. If dili siya mu (he doesn't) show up, after the subpoena, damputon namo siya (we will apprehend him)."

The PRO-Central Visayas has also asked PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde to formally issue a subpoena against Ashley's boyfriend for further investigation about the case.
