- A few celebrities took to social media to share their thoughts about the issue
Many netizens were infuriated by a video of Congressman Aniceto "John" Bertiz III supposedly harassing an airport security officer at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Later on, Bertiz apologized for his behavior and explained that he was just having his “monthly period” due to stress from work.
KAMI learned that a few celebrities have also expressed their thoughts about Bertiz’s actions at NAIA and his subsequent apology.
One of the public figures who slammed Bertiz is Karen Davila:
“Sad apology. Ininsulto pa kaming mga kababaihan. Lets not liken the “monthly period” to feelings of entitlement by some people in power,” she tweeted.
Host Bianca Gonzales also made comments related to Bertiz’s apology:
“Bilang babae, pag ako may period, kahit sobrang sakit ng cramps, walang choice kundi tiisin at minsan uminom ng painkiller, kasi kailangan pa rin magtrabaho. Ikaw, anong kwento mo pag may monthly period?”
Social media star Saab Magalona also had strong words for the congressman:
Actress Agot Isidro also tweeted about the viral incident:
Singer Jim Paredes’ tweet about the issue was more cryptic:
Cong. Bertiz is a member of the ACTS-OFW partylist.
He is a known friend of Bong Go, Special Assistant to the President. According to Go, Bertiz will not get special treatment despite being his friend, as reported by ABS-CBN News.
