Being one of the main choreographers for the sunday variety show ASAP, Teacher Georcelle of GForce defended Kim Chui's "epic fail" dance number.

After the clip of the performance spread online last year, bashers and some netizens couldn't help but point out how the Kapamilya actress failed to deliver the dance moves and how she looked awkward. It has been one of the most popular 'funny' videos shared on Facebook and Twitter.

Teacher Georcelle, who had worked with the Chinita Princess for a long time, came to her defense.

“It wasn't a fall. It was just a bad recovery," she said in an interview with PEP.Ph. “It became a bad transition kasi hindi pantay yung acrylic, hindi pantay ang pagkakagawa. Pero sabi ko nga, had it been a good form, kung mayroon mang mahabang ensayo, hindi mangyayari yun," she added.

The G Force head also explained that perhaps the incident was due to a faulty prop.

“Yung acrylic kasi came in Friday, which is tama lang naman, kasi Friday talaga nag-i-start ang rehearsal namin. Friday, they worked on the piyesa, they rehearsed, it was okay," she narrated.

“Come Saturday evening, nabali... Saturday evening. Then, we have to call the supplier, e, Sunday, closed. Sunday, so lahat tinawagan na, lahat ng resources, sino puwedeng mag-supply nito. Then, I asked what time, kasi mag-o-open daw ang supplier ng 8 o'clock [in the morning]. There's one na meron sa bodega so, 'Game, get them both.'," Teacher Georcelle continued.

Due to the last minute changes, the dancers of the production number Yassi Pressman, Aaron Villaflor, Enzo Pineda, and Kim needed to adapt to the change as quick as possible.

“Nagba-blocking kami sa studio, wala yung acrylic, wala kaming props, wala. Noong dumating, wala, madya-jumble talaga, e," Teacher Georcelle explained.

Things get more tricky because it was for a live show, where anything can happen.

"When you do a live show, it's really challenging. Those are the things na nangyayari during the live show. Those are the things that people cannot understand," she expressed.

Teacher Georcelle also shared that Kim has always been game with adventurous dance numbers since the beginning.

"You know, with Kim Chiu, you really have to give her something special at saka mga death-defying acts, namarkahan na niya yun, e, sa ASAP," she said.

Teacher Georcelle heads GForce, one of the back up dancers crew for ASAP. She has also worked with celebrities, and works as a dancing coach for most of the Kapamilya performers.
