Kim Atienza has finally opened up about his decision to leave “It’s Showtime.”
KAMI learned that he departed the noontime program in order to improve his efforts on TV Patrol and Matanglawin.

According to PUSH, he also left the show in order to strengthen his brand as a celebrity knowledge expert.
“I left Showtime because I want to work on the equity that makes me strong as Kuya Kim and I'm Kuya Kim because the brand is Kuya Kim who gives trivia, Kuya Kim na pumalit kay Ernie Baron, the ‘Trivia King’ and I would like to focus on that…
“If you noticed naman after I left Showtime my segment in TV Patrol is much stronger, I was able to put in more effort.
“And [with] Matanglawin I am able to travel now, nakapunta ako kay Whang Od (Kalinga tattoo artist). Ang tagal ko ng hindi nakaka-travel for Matanglawin eh.
“Those shows strengthened Kuya Kim as the knowledge expert and as a brand,” he revealed.

According to Kuya Kim, he is open to going back to “It’s Showtime” if he is ever needed.
He added that he still sees his former co-hosts from time to time, who he considers his family.
Kuya Kim was a host on “It’s Showtime” from 2009 to 2016.
The other original hosts include Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis and Vhong Navarro.
