- Rachel said she enjoyed shooting an intense seduction scene with Paulo
In an interview with PEP, actor Paulo Avelino said he found it nerve-wracking to shoot a "seduction scene" opposite veteran singer Rachel Alejandro for the movie "Ang Larawan".
The 29-year-old actor said it wasn't easy because they had to do different versions of the same scene. He said they took a lot of rehearsals to nail the technical aspects of the scene.
But Rachel said she, herself, enjoyed shooting the intimate scene.
"Nag-enjoy naman kami ni Paulo! Huwag niyo na lang sabihin sa asawa ko kung gaano kami nag-enjoy," joked Rachel to PEP.
The singer-actress is married to Spanish reporter Carlos Santamaria since 2011.
Switching back to seriousness, Rachel compared the difference of shooting the movie to the stage musical version she did back in 1998.
"Actually, sobrang nahirapan talaga ako because of the fact na feeling ko na alam ko na 'yung part, na 20 years ko na 'tong kinakanta in my head," confessed Rachel.
She said the different dynamics she had with fellow actors Paulo and Joanna Ampil made the experience a new one for her.
The movie musical is based on the play "A Portrait of the Artist as a Filipino" by National Artist for Literature Nick Joaquin.
It was adapted into a Tagalog stage musical in 1997. Rachel played the same role of Paula in the second run.
It tells the story of the Marasigan sisters Candida and Paula, who struggles with the decision whether to sell or hold on to their father's masterpiece in the middle of their financial struggles.
The movie also stars West End star Joanna Ampil in the role of Candida.
It is graded A by the Cinema Evaluation Board and will be screened starting December 25.
