Kapuso superstar Alden Richards has revealed on social media that his late mother Rosario Reyes Faulkerson suffered from depression.

KAMI learned about Alden’s mom from his Twitter.

According to PEP.ph, Rosario passed away in 2008 due to chronic pneumonia.

Alden was only 16 years old when his mom died.

“My mom suffered from bipolar depression all her life when she had us. I know every single detail of it and how hard she suffered from it,” Alden tweeted.

His tweet came after Joey de Leon said on “Eat Bulaga” that depression was just made up.

The comedian immediately apologized after receiving criticisms from both netizens and his fellow celebrities.

In an interview with Inquirer in May 2017, Alden had this to say about his late mother.

“Everything I do right now, I do it in her honor, and in God’s…

“Losing my mom very early has made me stronger. It made me mature more quickly,” Alden said.

Netizens got emotional after reading Alden’s tweet.

“Aww habang binabasa ko ito naiiyak ako, i feel you.”

“so proud of you alden.. Hindi talaga biro ang pagkakaroon ng depression, halos lahat nakakaranas nun.”

“Hi Alden! Hugs from me to you! Thank you for inspiring a lot of people.”

“So proud of you alden at finally binahagi mo na. Love and warm hugs.”
