18-year-old girl ends up in hospital after brutal hazing

- An 18-year-old girl ends up in hospital for serious injuries after undergoing initiation rites for a sorority, believed to be a a form of hazing

- She was hit with a belt buckle and wood approximately 50 times

- Mother is now seeking justice for daughter

A mother was grief-stricken after she learned of the condition of her daughter, who was reportedly a victim of hazing.

ABS-CBN reported that Ana (not her real name), 18 years old, was physically abused by the sorority members during a hazing.

Based on the report, Ana has been repeatedly invited by the sorority members but she refused. This invitation was given on December 2016.

On January 3 however, she was harassed and was threatened from within the school campus, that she would be killed if she will not join the sorority.

Due to fear, she went with them where she was "blessed" in the gym.

On January 8, the day of the initiation rights, Ana was asked to bring a candle, a sack and food, and was told they would have an outing.

When she arrived at the place, she was blindfolded, required to kneel and henceforth received the beating she never experienced.

She said that she was struck with a belt and wood almost more or less 50 times. Her back was also burned by candles and she was slapped and her hair pulled.

She was brought home at around 8 in the evening and it was only the following day that her mother came to find out what happened.

Ana is now in the hospital and the mother is asking the help of CIDG to investigate the incident and give justice to her daughter.

This baby was also abused not by any other person but by his own mother.
