Comedienne Pokwang to release cookbook soon

- Marietta Subong, more popularly known as Pokwang, has become a cooking mainstay in Kris Aquino’s former morning show

- The Kapamilya actress/host will be releasing her cookbook in time for the holidays

- She has shared some of her cooking, like her own take on callos and seafood binacol, on her Instagram page

Aside from being a great comedienne and actress, Pokwang is also known for her cooking skills.

The Kapamilya talent had recurring appearances in Kris Aquino’s now-defunct morning show ‘Kris TV’, showing everyone how to cook a variety of dishes such as adobo with cream cheese, pesang isda sa miso, and sweet and sour lapu-lapu among others.

Her co-workers have commended her for her dishes, which includes the great Charo Santos-Concio.

If her cooking has impressed one of the network’s head honchos, it is fitting that she should release a cookbook much like her other peers in the business.

It looks like it would be happening very soon, as she revealed on Instagram that her cookbook would be out just in time for the holiday season.

She even noted that it would be a nice Christmas gift, preferably to mothers or people who love to cook just like her.

One of her recent posts yesterday made her followers salivate at their screens since she cooked two dishes - chicken inasal and seafood binacol - for lunch, which are perfect for the chilly weather we have been experiencing lately.

Prior to her announcement, she has already revealed that her cookbook would be released this month.

Last week, she shared a photo of her workstation - the stove - where she was cooking her own version of callos. She even tagged Kris Aquino in her post since she missed cooking for her show.

Instagram has become an avenue for the ‘Banana Sundae’ regular to share her cooking, which has made all of us hungry while we look at her artfully-shot photos and view at her superb skills in action.

She has already posted a teaser of her upcoming book four weeks ago, posing in a bright kitchen wearing a nice and bright outfit.

Just like her, we cannot wait for her cookbook to come out since we will be trying to recreate her recipes at the comfort of our own homes.

We are sure that her recipes will become an instant hit to Filipinos as most of her dishes are her personal twists to classic Pinoy dishes.

Similar to her is Marian Rivera, who cooked for her morning talk show ‘Yan ang Morning’ before it ended earlier this year.
