As a fashion designer, it is always an honor when an internationally-known celebrity wears our creations - much so when they are known to be style icons.
For the case of Filipino designer Jun Escario, his simple yet sleek black dress was worn by none other than Taylor Swift - do we need an introduction to her?
The Instagram account of The Archives & Showroom shared a photo of the pop superstar donning Escario's dress when she met up with 'Kinky Boots' star Todrick Hall and his boyfriend Jesse Pattison on Broadway.

The Cebuano designer has established two shops in the country - one in his hometown and another in Makati City.
He is known for his simple yet colorful designs that flatter the female body tastefully, unlike other designers who go crazy on embellishment and avant-garde cuts.
Jun's designs embody the modern woman who just wants to look her best without any fuss, but still looks like she has it all together.

Although there are many other Filipino designers Hollywood celebrities have rocked on the red carpet, Jun's creation is a breath of fresh air.
His moment with Taylor Swift goes to show that celebrities can rock their wares even if they do not have intricate embroidery or trailing skirts.
However, there are creations by Filipino designers that totally deserve to be in the red carpet, such as Liza Soberano's Michael Cinco frock during the Star Magic Ball last October.
