Is the Marian Rivera, Heart Evangelista feud really over?
Marian Rivera is so over her feud with Heart Evangelista.
On April 18, when asked in a product endorsement press conference for comment about her conflict with Heart, Marian candidly shot back: "Hindi pa tapos? Hindi pa rin tapos? Nakakaloka! (That's not over? That's still not over? Unbelievable!)"
Marian then explained that she had already forgiven Heart a long time ago.
"Kelan ba 'yung Dolphy special? Antagal na di ba? Three years? Two years ago? Lumapit na siya sa'kin e. The mere fact na lumapit na siya sa'kin pinatawad ko na siya. So wala nang dahilan sa mga issues na 'yan," said Marian during the press conference.
(When was the Dolphy special? A long time ago, right? Three years? Two years ago? She already approached me. The mere fact that she approached me, I had already forgiven her. So there is no reason to bring up these issues.)
The actress was referring to Dolphy Alay Tawa: A Musical Tribute to the King of Philippine Comedy, which was held at the MOA Arena in September 19, 2012.
Marian also stressed that she and Heart are now civil with each other, even greeting each other when they meet.
The rivalry between the two Kapuso actresses started in 2011 when they were filming the movie Temptation Island. It escalated to a feud when Heart's mother, Cecile Ongpauco, allegedly confronted Marian at the airport when the actresses arrived from a shoot in Ilocos Norte.
'Very bad'
Although claiming the feud is over, Marian admitted that she was hurt when Heart said her fans were "very bad."
In an Instagram post back in July 30 2015, Heart responded to a follower who commented that she's "way better than Marian!"
Heart's response: "thank you but let's not start with that her fans are very bad and I don't wanna get bashed. thank you."
In a separate reply to another commenter, Heart advised her fans not to act like Marian's: "It's a fact sad to say. To all @heartworld never act like that. It will reflect on who you look up to... no to nega."
After breaking her silence and admitting the comment hurt her, Marian had some frank advice for her fellow Kapuso star.
"Siguro sana 'yung mga sinasabi niyang salita e tumutugma sa mga kinikilos niya. Ako naman, tao lang. Kapag sincere sa'kin ang isang tao, bakit hindi? Sino ba'ng gustong may kaaway?"
(I hope that what she says reflects what she does. I'm just a human being. When a person is sincere, why would I not acknowledge? Who wants to have enemies?)
The new mother to Baby Zia then emphasized her desire to give a positive example for her daughter.
"Siyempre, lalo na ngayon na may anak ako. Gusto ko bawat yugto ng buhay niya e positive talaga din naman ako at nakikita niya sa aming mga magulang na magandang ehemplo kami para sa kanya."
(Especially now that I have a daughter. I want to be positive for every part of her life, and I want her to see that her parents are good examples for her.)
Mending hearts
Heart, for her part, had recently said she's willing to mend fences with people she had misunderstandings with.
"Yeah, naman, 'no, hirap kaya ng ganyan! Happy akong tao, so friendly ako, puwera 'yung negative, happy lang."
(Yes, of course! It's difficult when you have conflicts with people! I'm a happy person, I'm friendly, I stay away from the negative, just stay happy.)
Heart had recently made peace with her parents after a very public falling out due to her relationship with now husband, Senator Chiz Escudero.
Though the rivalry issue between the two stars seems to not want to die, Marian wants to finally end all questions: "Sa ngayon, sobrang daming magagandang nangyayari sa buhay ko, tama na."
(Right now, so many wonderful things are happening in my life, so let's stop [the issues].)
