9 Married celebrity couples who got an annulment
A married couple cannot file for a divorce in the Philippines, only for an annulment. However, Gabriela party-list Representatives Emmi de Jesus and Arlene Brosas filed the House Bill 2380 in order to finally legalize divorce in the country.
“It is high time that the State gives abusive and irreparable marriages the option to divorce. We hope that this time, both Houses of Congress will finally approve the divorce bill,” De Jesus said.
Brosas added that three in five Filipinos favor the legalization of divorce based on a 2015 Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.
If the bill pushes through, we might see many married couples getting divorced in the future. In the meantime, here are some of the most famous married celebrity couples in the Philippines who got an annulment after their marriage fell apart.
