Love knows no gender.
Former sexy star Rosanna Roces is getting married to her lesbian partner Blessy Arias. The wedding which is set in September this year in Canada will also be celebrated in the Philippines come December.
Roces and Arias shared on Sunday in an interview with ABS-CBN’s “Rated K” that their relationship began when they were still in their youth.
So, how does the lovebirds ended up? It goes like this.
The couple revealed that they have known each other for a long time. Arias was 19 years old and Roces was 15 when they first had an encounter.
Roces is a friend of Aria’s sister, and that was how the two chanced upon each other.
"When I was 15, meron akong ka-on. Babae siya, di ba. Kasama ko siya sa bahay with my father, my mother. Si Grace, yung anak kong panganay, ang totoo n'yan, ginawa ko si Grace para maging anak namin," the veteran actress disclosed in an earlier interview this year with ABS-CBN late night talk show Tonight With Boy Abunda.
They lost communication after Roces entered the limelight and pursued showbiz. Roces then got married to Tito Molina with whom she had two children.
Years have gone by and the two finally met again.
According to Roces, Arias was one of the few who never left her side during her difficult times. The actress cited instances when Arias was there for her, such as the period when she was still carrying in her womb her first child.
During the interview in Tonight With Boy Abunda, Roces described her relationship with Arias as "Kakaiba.(Unusual) Pero (but), I found my match."
"Magpapakasal kami... Alam mo naman ako, Christian yung family ko. Pero wala, wala kahit isa sa kanila ang nag-judge sa akin," she told host Boy Abunda.
