Following a recent order from the Court of Appeals directing the release of his high-profile attackers, the embattled actor is refusing to simply back down.
According to his legal camp, the popular comedian remains fiercely determined to pursue all available legal remedies to fight the sudden modification of their sentence, proving that his long quest for justice is definitely still in motion.
The stunning twist in the decade-long saga happened after the appellate court recently downgraded the original conviction of Deniece and Cedric.

Instead of the heavier serious illegal detention penalty, the offense was sharply reduced to grave coercion, bringing their prison sentences down to a minimum of six months and a maximum of three years, six months, and 21 days.
Despite this heavy legal blow, Vhong is maintaining absolute composure.
Speaking on behalf of the actor, defense lawyer Alma shared her client's unwavering trust in the country's legal process.
“Through all these years, Mr. Vhong Navarro chose to keep faith with the justice system in place in our country… In keeping with that faith, he will continue to pursue all the remedies that are available to him,” Atty. Mallonga stated in an official message published by ABS-CBN News.
She boldly added, “He is prepared to fully accept the result of that process when it finally ends.”
Clarifying the public confusion surrounding the immediate release order, Atty. Mallonga firmly asserted that “it is not true that the accused have been detained since 2014, which is the reason the Court of Appeals had ordered their immediate release.”
She emphasized that while they are indeed serving time in prison, the sufficiency of their incarceration period remains a strict matter of law. “Mr. Navarro shall continue to trust in the process and abide by whatever that requires,” Atty. Mallonga added.
Meanwhile, the Bureau of Corrections is hitting the pause button before unlocking the prison gates. The agency confirmed that they are still strictly verifying court documents because Cedric and Deniece are also serving sentences for a separate grave coercion case.
