Tessa Prieto opened up about one of the most difficult chapters of her personal life as she discussed the end of her 26-year marriage to businessman Dennis Valdes during Friday’s episode of Fast Talk With Boy Abunda on GMA.

In the candid interview, the well-known socialite spoke about what she believes caused the breakdown of their longtime marriage, alleging that her former husband’s infidelity with one of his employees ultimately led to their separation.
According to Tessa, her suspicions began during the COVID-19 pandemic when she noticed changes in her then-husband’s work routine.
“I realized that he was working more during the pandemic. And I noticed there was one particular staff that they would meet all the time. She’s from marketing who rose to the ranks…”

She recalled that the employee and her former husband frequently spent weekends together in Balesin for work-related reasons, something she eventually found unusual.
“Every weekend, they were in Balesin. Not necessary. And then I would go to the beach and stuff. And I said, this is too strange that because of their age gap, I don’t, I didn’t think of anything…”
Tessa explained that at first, she did not suspect a romantic relationship because of the significant age difference between the two.
However, she later claimed that her former husband suggested an arrangement she immediately rejected.
“Sabi niya, I’m gonna keep you and her.”
The remark surprised Tessa, who said she questioned the proposal.
“Parang sabi ko, ano, parang, really? Are you like Muslim or something?”
“So sabi ko, I’m not agreeing. Kasi sabi ko, sinama na mag-agree, ’di ba?”
Tessa also pointed out that the woman involved was much younger than her former husband.
“And I felt like, she’s a friend of my kids. Yung age gap nila, 36 years…”
She further shared that matters became even more painful when the two allegedly began making their relationship visible on social media.
“Then January, silang dalawa nag-public post in their IG.”
According to Tessa, she eventually saw photos and videos of the pair together, including images from trips and birthday celebrations.
“So they have been collabing pictures together. Their dives in Maldives, or birthday niya. Her 29th birthday in Baguio. You know videos of them.”
She admitted that many people around her tried to shield her from the posts, but said it became difficult to avoid seeing them.
“For me, people are already shielding me not to show me. But of course, siyempre, I can see.”
Tessa likewise addressed the widespread media attention that followed news of her former husband’s engagement.
What affected her most, she said, was repeatedly seeing her name included in headlines about her former husband’s new relationship.
“But the problem is. It’s ‘Tessa Prieto’s ex-husband gets engaged,’ ‘Tessa Prieto’s ex-husband’s fiancee is this,’ ganyan.”
Throughout the interview, Tessa emphasized her personal experiences and reflections on the difficult period, offering viewers a glimpse into the emotional challenges she faced as her longtime marriage came to an end.

Following the filing of the complaint, Chua later submitted a counter-affidavit in connection with the widely discussed issue.
