Celebrity makeup artist Dave Quiambao has come forward to challenge the allegations made against beauty queen Michelle Dee and actress Rhian Ramos. The controversy began when Bonifacio Baro, a driver for Rhian Ramos, filed a formal complaint at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Baro alleged that he was kept against his will at the actresses' condominium unit for three days. He further claimed that he was physically assaulted by the women, with Panlilio supposedly assisting in the act.

According to Baro, the ordeal ended when he was brought to the Makati Police. At the time, Michelle Dee filed a qualified theft complaint against him, alleging he stole an "AngPao" containing sensitive photographs. However, reports indicate that the theft complaint was eventually dismissed due to a lack of evidence.

In response to the NBI filing, the legal counsel for Dee and Ramos released a statement firmly debunking the driver’s story. The defense camp asserted that Baro had previously admitted to stealing from Michelle and had even returned some of the missing items. They described his recent allegations as a "vindictive suit" intended to serve as leverage against the initial theft charges.

Stepping into the fray, Quiambao used his Facebook feed to provide what he suggests is an alibi for the stars. Having worked closely with the trio, he posted: Pano nangyare to ng January 17 eh nasa Iloilo kami? Panooo???” His post included screenshots of news reports, where he also accused certain social media pages of editing their content for biased reasons. Update: Kapamilya Online World nageedit ng post. Sino kaya nagbabayad dito? Hmm,” he wrote.

Adding to his claims, Quiambao noted that on January 16, just a day before the alleged detention began, he had posted photos from Samantha Panlilio’s birthday celebration. He maintained that Michelle and Rhian were present at that event as well, which he says aligns with their scheduled trip to Iloilo.

Michelle Dee, known for representing the Philippines in Miss Universe 2023, and Rhian Ramos, a veteran actress, have long been close friends and often share a residence. Samantha Panlilio, who represented the country in Miss Grand International 2021, is also a staple in their tight-knit social circle. The group is frequently seen together at high-profile events and provincial tours.

In a recent interview, Michelle Dee shared insights into her personal life and her current relationship status during an appearance on Kylie Verzosa’s podcast. The beauty queen spoke candidly about how she balances her high-profile career with her private life. She also addressed the rumors surrounding her close bond with other celebrities.

The camps of Michelle Dee and Rhian Ramos have officially addressed the serious allegations of illegal detention filed by a former driver. Their legal representative clarified that they have yet to receive a formal copy of the NBI complaint but are ready to face the charges. The statement emphasized that the driver had a history of theft involving the actresses' personal property.
