Remulla said he ordered an immediate autopsy on Cabral’s remains after noting operational lapses by local authorities in Tuba, Benguet.
According to him, the early results showed extensive injuries to her body.
"The initial reports show that with all certainty that she died of blunt force trauma. So ang nakita namin ay basag dito (right side of face) niya, likod ng ulo, ang ribs niya ay pumasok sa internal organs at bali 'yung kanyang mga paa," Remulla said.

He added that investigators did not find indicators suggesting a physical struggle prior to her death.
"So wala kaming nakitang signs of struggle sa kotse, walang nakita sa skin cells sa ilalim ng fingernails, at wala ring gunshot wounds ang nakita so far," he stated.
Based on CCTV backtracking at the hotel where Cabral stayed, Remulla noted that she appeared to be alone upon entering and leaving the premises.
He also said authorities saw no evidence pointing to foul play at this stage.
"So far, no signs of foul play," Remulla said.
Remulla further narrated that Cabral had earlier stopped at the area where she later allegedly jumped, hours before the incident, and was seen looking downward before being asked by police to leave.
The DILG chief disclosed that Cabral’s spouse has agreed to surrender her mobile phone for forensic examination.
"May forensics analysis naman 'yan so hindi mo pwedeng matanggal lahat 'yan," Remulla said when asked about possible evidence tampering.
Cabral died Thursday night after an alleged fall into a deep ravine along Kennon Road in Tuba, Benguet.
The Philippine National Police earlier identified her driver as a person of interest, citing actions described by Acting PNP Chief Police Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. as contrary to “human nature.”
