In a report by Saleema Refran on GMA News’ 24 Oras last Tuesday, the Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP–AKG) included the 42-year-old Alvin among six individuals recommended for preliminary investigation by the Department of Justice (DOJ) on April 19.

Police investigations revealed that Alvin acted as a negotiator for the family while the kidnappers were holding his father captive.

He also allegedly paid an initial ransom of P10 million through a cryptocurrency account on March 31, followed by an additional P3 million to the same account on April 2.

Despite the ransom payments, Anson Que and his driver were found dead on April 9 along the roadside in Rodriguez, Rizal.

Earlier reports claimed that a total of P100 million was paid in ransom.

“Unang iniulat na umabot sa P100 milyon ang ibinayad na ransom para sa mga biktima pero pinatay pa rin.”

The shocking twist that the victim’s own son may have orchestrated the crime has drawn widespread attention and outrage.

Authorities continue to investigate the case as the DOJ prepares for formal proceedings against the suspects.
