Lolit Solis has expressed her thoughts on the recent arrest of former broadcaster, Jay Sonza.

She said that she felt sorry towards the broadcaster, considering the kind of life that he has before, only to end up in jail.

"Para naman naawa ako kay Jay Sonza, Salve. Hindi ba nakakaawa na sa dati niyang kinalalagyan, ganyan ang magiging ending niya, sa kulungan."

Manay has nothing to complain about Jay since she said, he was good to her.

She just hoped that he would be able to receive some help from his former colleagues and friends.

"Wala akong puwede ireklamo kay Jay Sonza dahil naging mabait siya sa akin nuon, sana naman matulungan siya ng mga dati niyang kasama at kaibigan na puwede tumulong para maayos ang anuman gusot na napasukan niya."

She also noted that his life would be such a waste if only to end up in such a situation.

"Sayang talaga pag sa ganito lang mapupunta ang buhay mo. Lalo pa nga at ang ganda ng umpisa mo. Ipagdasal natin maayos pa ang buhay ni Jay Sonza at kung puwede pa mabalik sa naiwan niyang career."

A well-known former broadcaster, Sonza was arrested on Tuesday for alleged large-scale illegal recruitment, as per the report of Niko Baua of ABS-CBN. The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Asst. Dir. Glenn Ricarte has confirmed the news. As per Ricarte, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) prevented Sonza from leaving the country and was temporarily detained on July 18, 2023. He was initially turned over to the NBI recently, but was already turned over to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).

Sonza's arrest prompted some celebrities, including Ogie Diaz, to post their reactions online. In the case of Ogie, he took to Twitter and shared his thoughts on the news about Jay Sonza's arrest. He said that it was sad news for the broadcaster's children and grandchildren. The comedian did not say anything else except for that one-liner comment. Jay was arrested recently allegedly due to illegal recruitment.
