Robin Padilla, 51, has just penned an appreciation post for his wife, Mariel Padilla, after filing his Certificate of Candidacy.
On Saturday, October 9, KAMI learned that the former actor praised his wife for always having his back no matter what.
He also stirred buzz on social media when he compared Mariel’s love for him to that of a game of chess.

Robin began by revealing that he and Mariel often clash but that he will always have Mariel’s heart in his viral post.

According to the 51-year-old-actor, Mariel may “fight” and “criticize” her, but she will not allow anyone to do the same thing to him.
“She will fight me and criticize me but she will never let anybody do it to me. Family, friend or no friend, I’m untouchable to them she will always make me feel the queen is playing her chess well in protecting her king. Maraming salamat sa [heart emoji] @marieltpadilla.”
His online post was eventually noticed by Mariel, who left a sweet reply for him in the comment section, “100% for you!!! Kilala kita. I know your heart. I’m so proud of you.”
Robin Padilla is a Filipino actor, director, producer, and screenwriter. He already has children with his former wife Liezl Sicangco — Ali, Queenie, Kylie, and Zhen-Zhen. He also has another daughter, Camille, with Lea Orosa. The actor's current wife is actress Mariel Padilla whom he has two children.
