- The decision to finally run came a week after 1Sambayan opposition coalition endorsed Robredo as their presidential bet for next year's elections

- Robredo said that it has been a tough process of discernment before she finally revealed her decision

Leni Robredo, the Vice President of the Philippines, finally made her decision. She will be running for President in Halalan 2022.

Robredo made the announcement on Thursday, 11 a.m. at the Quezon City Reception House.

"Buong buo ang loob ko ngayon – kailangan nating palayain ang sarili mula sa kasalukuyang sitwasyon. Lalaban ako. Lalaban tayo. Inihahain ko ang aking sarili bilang kandidato sa pagkapangulo sa halalan ng 2022," announced Robredo.

During the first part of her speech, she enunciated her position, pointing out what seems to be amiss, "Ang kawalan ng ayos ng pamamahala...hindi lang apelyedo ng nasa poder ang kailangang palitan...malinaw kung nasaan ako, nasa panig ako ng mga pamilyang nasa laylayan."

"Nanay ako hindi lang ng tatlong anak ko kundi ng buong bansa. Alam ng isang ina kung ano ang kayang isakripisyo para sa mga anak," said Leni in the middle of her speech.

"Ngayon sasabak tayo sa mas malaking laban," she further added. Robredo.

She then promised that she would give it her all.

"Panata ko ngayon na ibubuhos ko ang aking lakas, hindi lang hanggang sa halalan, kundi hanggang sa huling lakas ko," said Robredo.

She pointed out that it would be a government that prioritizes the needs of the people, "Gobyernong tunay na inuuna ang interes ng taong-bayan."

Leni Robredo is the Vice President of the Philippines. She has three daughters. She is the wife of the late Jesse Robredo.

VP Leni Robredo, for the first time, welcomed a person in her home, no other than Karen Davila. The Vice President revealed that her and her kids' home has been like that, a small comfortable place. She revealed that ever since, she did not want to have a big house because they have been used to having just a small simple house, even in Naga. The unit of the Vice President is nowhere near being luxurious, as the living area, the dining room, are just located in one area.

Rica Peralejo could not help but feel happy and “kilig” over the paper bag filled with goodies sent by Vice President Leni Robredo. According to Rica, she already asked the Vice President not to send her any gifts already. Despite this, Leni went out of her way to send Rica some gifts, including a heartfelt letter which she penned. In her viral online post, Rica also included a short video clip of herself unboxing the gifts she received.
