According to Joshua, he will portray the role of Bryan Samonte Robles, a police officer and an EMP.

Though he did not specify what EMP is, it could mean Emergency Medical Personnel.

“Hello mga kapamilya, ako po si Joshua Garcia at gagampanan ko ang character ni Bryan Samonte Robles, at yun lang po ang maisi-share ko sa ngayon,” the actor said during the cast reveal for Darna.

After a series of auditions, Jane de Leon bested all other hopefuls for the iconic role of Darna.

The upcoming TV series was initially intended to be a movie until it was postponed indefinitely due to the COVID pandemic.

Darna is a popular Pinoy comics superheroine that first appeared in Pilipino Komiks. It was later adapted into different movie variations, all of which became huge successes. Among the actresses who portrayed the role of the fictional superheroine over several decades include Rosa del Rosario, Liza Moreno, Eva Montes, Gina Pareño, Vilma Santos, Lorna Tolentino, Rio Locsin, Sharon Cuneta, Nanette Medved, Anjanette Abayari, Regine Velasquez, Angel Locsin, and Marian Rivera.

In August of last year, ABS-CBN announced the postponement of the “Darna” movie starring Jane de Leon. The network cited safety as one of the major reasons why the production of the film has to be halted. It was also revealed that the movie requires a lot of crowd shots and fight scenes that will involve physical contact. Jane immediately aired her frank reaction after hearing about the fate of her upcoming project.

After a long wait, Jane de Leon is ready to fly as “Darna” as the taping for her upcoming series is bound to start in November. During an exclusive interview with “TV Patrol,” Jane revealed she has been on a diet and has been eating one cup of rice a day only. She also openly admitted to tearing up and feeling emotional during her costume fitting for the show. Moreover, Jane also thanked “Ang Probinsyano” star, Coco Martin, for all the things he taught her before.
