Actress and comedienne Ai Ai delas Alas has confirmed that she and husband Gerald Sibayan will go ahead with their previous plan to stay in the United States for a long time.

Ai Ai said that the reason they are staying there for a while is she plans to process her US citizenship documents so she could petition Gerald.

The actress-comedienne is a US Green Card holder since 2015, and processing her US citizenship is already long overdue.

“2015 pa kasi yung green card ko. So, kung bibilangin mo nu’ng 2020, five years na ako, dapat citizen na ako,” Ai Ai revealed.

The actress-comedienne, however, said that she’s not staying there for good and also plans to go back home.

“Babalik naman ako rito, kasi yung nanay ko matanda na, so bibisitahin ko,” the comedienne said.

She also said she’s taking this opportunity now as this is the only time she would have Gerald as her priority, and not her career, at least temporarily.

“Sa totoo lang, ngayon pa lang ako magiging may asawa, na ang priority ko si Gerald. Bukod sa ipe-petition ko siya, kailangan niya din ng kasama du’n sa Amerika,” Ai Ai bared.

Martina Eileen Hernandez delas Alas-Sibayan, more popularly known as Ai-Ai Delas Alas in the entertainment world, is a Pinay film and TV actress-comedienne. She was born on November 11, 1964 and rose to fame through her film Ang Tanging Ina, which became a blockbuster hit. A TV series spin-off resulted because of the flick’s popularity, as well as several sequels that include Ang Tanging Ina N'yong Lahat, Ang Tanging Ina Mo (Last na 'To!) and Enteng ng Ina Mo.

Ai-Ai warmed hearts on social media after posting a sweet new video. The viral video shows Ai-Ai crying in her car as she got overwhelmed by her husband Gerald Sibayan’s love for her. She shared that she got overjoyed when Gerald, who is in the US, sent her a bouquet of flowers because it was their monthsary. The Kapuso star added that this is the first time that she and Gerald have been apart for a long period of time.

Last month, the actress vented her frustrations online against a telecoms provider which she identified as Globe Telecom. The actress said that she received a disconnection notice from the telecoms company informing her to pay within three days her account due to avoid service interruption. She was dismayed, however, to learn that she already got disconnected within 24 hours of the receipt of that message. Ai-Ai took to Instagram to tell followers about her experience with Globe, saying that she will never subscribe to them again.
