“Social media is different from real life. So, be you,” the actress offered.

Gerald also said that while everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion, and many people always have opinions about other people and things, it should not go beyond expressing an opinion.

“Wala tayong karapatang mag-judge. Lahat naman tayo may karapatan sa opinyon natin. At maraming tao na laging may opinyon tungkol sa ibang tao at tungkol sa ibang bagay. Pero dapat hanggang doon lang,” the actor stressed.

He also said that if a certain celebrity wanted to live his or her life in a particular manner, other people should let it be.

“Kumbaga, kung gusto niyang mamuhay sa ganoong paraan o ano, choice niya iyan, di ba? Wala tayong karapatan mag-judge,” Gerald explained.

The actor also lamented the penchant of many people in calling out even the slightest mistakes or misstep of celebrities.

“Maraming perfect sa mundo. Maraming feeling perfect,” the actor said.

Dave also gave his own take, saying that even for just one mistake, the public immediately forgets the numerous good things that a celebrity has done.

Gerald agreed, saying that it’s the same with many things, like for instance in a job where one is always on time but when the same person is late, then it becomes a really bad mark.

In his case, the actor said that he often chooses to just understand all his haters because they are already convinced about what they believe.

He said that as a celebrity and an ordinary person, he would just wake up every morning and just do his best as a human being.
