Julia Barretto, 24, is the newest member to join the Philippine Coast Guard's Auxiliary K9 Squadron as an Auxiliary Ensign.
On Wednesday, September 1, KAMI learned that the official Facebook page of the Philippine Coast Guard uploaded several photos from Julia's oath-taking ceremony.
The low-key event was led by PCG Commandant, CG Admiral George V. Usabia Jr. who then expressed his gratitude to the new members of the PCGA.

Also present at the low-key ceremony was Julia's boyfriend, Gerald Anderson, who is the Auxiliary Lieutenant Commander of the PCGA K9 Squadron.

During the event, it was revealed that Julia thanked the PCG for "welcoming her into the field of public service" and pledged that she will "actively support the initiatives of the unit."
In the viral online post of the PCG, they also included a note about what auxiliary is, "Auxiliary means volunteer.
"Members of the PCGA are committed to serve the PCG by offering their time, efforts, and resources without expecting anything in return."
