KAMI learned that Gonzaga talked to Robredo about the death of her husband, former DILG secretary Jesse Robredo, back in 2012.
According to Robredo, she and her children were not able to properly grieve over his death because of the publicity surrounding their family.
For this reason, the vice president has not been able to remove her late husband’s clothes from their closet. She also revealed that ironically, she lost her fear of flying in planes after her husband died in a plane crash.

The vice president added that she misses her husband all the time, saying that Jesse rarely went out with friends and was always spending time with his family. She also recalled that Jesse gave her special massages when the pain from her migraines became unbearable despite taking medicines.
Robredo shared that the pain of losing Jesse has not gone away but she has learned to live with it. Gonzaga was visibly emotional while talking about Robredo’s loss.
As for the rumor that she is running for president in next year’s election, Robredo swore that she has not yet made a final decision on this matter.
