Catriona Gray may already have had a taste of bashers after she was crowned Miss Universe 2018.
The bashing also touched on the beauty queen's ability to sing, especially when she started releasing her own songs.
As per Abante, there were those who would criticize the beauty queen and would say that she cannot make "birit."
Cat, directly responded to such statements and said that ever since she has not been a belter.
"My style of singing has never been a birit queen. I’ve never been a belter. That’s not my style," said Cat on MYXclusive.
She also revealed that even when she was young, when she would see other singers making birit, she would say, "I can't do that."

Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Elisa Magnayon Gray is a Filipino-Australian model, beauty pageant titleholder, and singer. She was born on January 6, 1994 to Ian Gray, an Aussie of Scottish lineage, and Normita Ragas Magnayon, a Filipina from Oas, Albay. Catriona is the fourth Filipina to earn the title of Miss Universe, having been crowned Miss Universe 2018.

Previously, she also was crowned Miss World Philippines in 2016. She grew up in Australia and went to school at the Trinity Anglican School. She also earned a certificate in music theory from Boston’s Berklee College of Music. After high school, Cat moved to Manila where she became a commercial model.

2018 Miss Universe Catriona Gray recently admitted in a media conference for her new single, "Raise Your Flag", that she has also failed numerous times. Cat said that it even got to the point where she was already asking herself what is wrong with her or what are the things she lacks that people tend to look for. The beauty pageant titleholder said she was rejected multiple times, lost her hope, and have almost given up on her dreams. She said that her life and career, particularly when she was starting out as a model, was not easy.
Catriona Gray has just opened up about her style at beauty pageants, one that she has been doing in both national and international competitions. She addressed the issue about beauty queens copying her style, from her "lava walk," to the way that she would make a turn or a pose. She said that she does not agree with using the term "copycat" to refer to other beauty queens, but what she sees is perhaps a resemblance to her brand. "It's not mine to own," said the Miss Universe 2018 with regards to the style that has been attributed multiple times to her.
