John Lloyd Cruz gave an exclusive interview to G3 San Diego of MEGA Entertainment about fatherhood.
During the interview, John Lloyd revealed that the pregnancy of his former partner Ellen Adarna was planned.

According to the actor, he was not surprised when he found out that Ellen got pregnant because they wanted it and they knew it was going to happen.
“Parang pang pelikula lang pala yung ano - 'yung parang nalaman mo parang, ‘Magiging tatay na ako!’ Para sa akin hindi. I mean, kung ano yung nangyari sa akin, hindi. To each its own. Baka naman sa iba, totoo ‘yun and you can never tell kung ‘yun ay totoo o hindi. Okay yan, ‘yung nangyari sa ‘yo.
"Pero para sa akin… We wanted it eh. Alam naman na namin na it was going to happen…"
He also shared that when their son Elias Modesto was born, both he and Ellen were dealing with a lot of personal issues.
“Halu-halo kasi siya eh. Ang dami nangyari at that time… like 'yung father ni Ellen (Adarna) passed away two weeks before pinanganak si Elias and she was going through motherhood, becoming a mother and our own personal issues. ‘Di ba parang lahat ang dami nangyari.
"And halos walang time actually to reflect on what’s happening on a day-to-day basis. And I was going through my own,” John Lloyd told MEGA Entertainment.

Despite their problems and their separation as a romantic couple, Ellen and John Lloyd are doing their best in co-parenting Elias.
Aside from being a father, John Lloyd is also busy with his showbiz comeback. Many netizens got stunned after it was announced that he signed to be one of the artists on Maja Salvador’s own agency, Crown Artist Management, as reported by Rappler.
As for Ellen, she is in a romantic relationship with actor Derek Ramsay and they are engaged to get married soon. Derek said in a report by the Manila Bulletin that he allows John Lloyd to go to his house so that he could spend time with Elias.
